GHBASS is a long-established American shoe brand that created the world's first loafers.
Founded in Wilton, Maine in 1876 by George Henry Bass. Mr. Bass, who was working at a shoe store, had doubts about the shoes worn by workers and outdoor shoes at the time, and decided to make his own shoes. He started making shoes after buying shares in EPPackard & Co., which owned a local factory. He later became the owner and changed the company name to GHBASS, taking his own name.
