DESCRIPTION
[ZUNI tribe]The Zuni live primarily in the Zuni Reservation, 30 miles south of Gallup, New Mexico. The Zuni are a single ethnic group with a population of about 12,000 people, and they have very strong ties within the tribe.
Like the Hopi, the spirits and tribal ceremonies are very closed and secretive, thus allowing them to maintain their own traditions in the face of outside encroachment.
Many are smiling and laid-back, and famous for their finely cut stone inlays, cluster jewelry and fetishes, and pots that are baked in a kiln. The inside of the village is very laid back, and you can feel that the laborious inlays and clusters are made here.
