A menswear brand by female designer Emily Adams Bode, based in Manhattan, NYC.
BODE creates classical and eye-catching workwear silhouettes from a wide variety of antique and unique textiles.
With two degrees in Philosophy and Menswear Design, Emily became the first female menswear designer to present a collection at New York Fashion Week for men less than a year after founding her brand in 2016.
While still a student, Emily honed her skills in finding and processing rare historical fabrics from around the world, eventually moving into upcycling.
Her collections are lovingly created one by one from various fabrics such as tablecloths made over 100 years ago, burlap sacks, Victorian bedsheets, and antique quilts.
This love for historical patterns and fabrics was nurtured during Emily's childhood vacations in Massachusetts and Atlanta.
