【Corgi】
Corgi Hosiery is a knitwear manufacturer founded in 1893 in South Wales, UK.
At the time of its founding, the main industry in Wales was coal mining, and Corgi began making handmade socks with the desire to provide warm long socks to the workers.
From 1960, they began producing hand-framed intarsia knitwear, and later, cashmere was added, earning recognition from luxury Parisian fashion houses.
Then, in 1988, the Prince of Wales (Prince Charles) was granted a Royal Warrant (Royal Seal of Approval) for having worn Corgi knitwear and socks for 10 years.
While most manufacturers mass-produce with machines, Corgi Hosiery still insists on handmade craftsmanship by artisans.
