DESCRIPTION
[ORTEGA'S]ORTEGA'S was started by Gabriel Ortega, one of the pioneering groups from Spain, in Chimayo, New Mexico, USA. The knowledge and skills have been passed down through eight generations.
Around 1900, ORTEGA'S Weaving Shop was opened, and the entire Chimayo village, including relatives, began making blankets.
The techniques and pride of Chimayo blankets, which have been passed down from parents to children and from children to grandchildren, continue to live on today in the works of ORTEGA'S, just as they did at the time of colonization, and today represent the southwestern United States. It is highly valued worldwide as a traditional hand-woven craft.
The spirit pattern is a rare piece that rarely appears on the market.
