This shoebill is made entirely by hand using recycled fabric.
Artist YUYA INAGAWA's works are carefully sewn using recycled fabric selected for each piece, with outstitching applied.
The unique forms and expressions created by hand have different personalities, giving them a presence not found in mass-produced items.
The warm appearance created by the overlapping of the material's past traces and the artist's handiwork is also one of its charms.
It can be displayed as an objet d'art in a space, or enjoyed with affection like a long-term partner.

YUYA INAGAWA began creating during his student years, and after an encounter with Anne-Valérie Dupond, he expanded into three-dimensional works.
He has established his own unique world view with free expression that utilizes the power of materials.
Since 2006, he has been active as "Chinretsu Bijutsuhin Seisakusho" (Display Artworks Workshop), creating each piece, primarily animal motifs. He aims to weave stories inherent in materials such as old wood, cloth, and leather, and to create dialogue and new stories through his works.
