創業者のDavid Rancourt氏は靴づくりを学ぶため50年代に故郷カナダを離れ、現在のRancourt&Co.の拠点でもあるアメリカ・メイン州に移住します。
初めはハンドメイドモカシンの工場として1967年に創業し、70年には息子のMichel氏を迎え入れ、小さなモカシン工場から世界の名だたるブランドの靴を製造する高級靴ブランドとしての地位を確立します。
その後の2009年、今度はMichel氏の息子Kyle氏が参加し、より一層活躍の場を広げています。現在でも従来通りにハンドソーンのモカシンを作り続ける希少なブランドです。

Founder David Rancourt left his native Canada in the 1950s to study shoemaking and moved to Maine, USA, where Rancourt & Co. is now based.
In 1967, Rancourt & Co. was founded as a handmade moccasin factory, and in 1970, Rancourt & Co. welcomed his son, Michel, and established itself from a small moccasin factory to a luxury shoe brand producing shoes for some of the world's most prestigious brands.
In 2009, Michel's son Kyle joined the company, expanding the company's activities even further. It is a rare brand that continues to make hand-sawn moccasins as before.
