The opening's fastener uses a substantial, oversized army button threaded through a 10mm wide car seatbelt.

The fabric is a heavyweight, 100% cotton material, high-density woven in Shizuoka Prefecture specifically for MAN-TLE and finished with a paraffin wax coating.
It boasts a deep color unique to yarn-dyed fabric, an exceptional stiffness that keeps out wind, and unique shape-memory properties.
With repeated washing and use, it gradually softens and becomes more familiar, developing a unique character over time, including fading and a rich unevenness on the fabric's surface.
