The "FOLK PANT" is an easy-pant style from SAMUEL ZELIG, inspired by "Fraktur," a traditional decorative art form created by Pennsylvania Dutch (German immigrants) from the late 18th to early 19th centuries, as well as American folk art. It is crafted from a 10oz wide-wale cotton corduroy fabric, meticulously woven in Japan. Through a specialized vintage wash and dye process, the fabric achieves a deep, sun-faded aesthetic as if worn for years, along with a soft and smooth texture. The unique color tone (OLIVE BROWN)—a complex blend of olive and brown—lends the garment a profound presence. The entire pant is intricately adorned with delicate, multi-colored embroidery featuring rustic and charming motifs, including angels, birds, the sun, moon, plants, human figures, and hands. The elastic waistband allows for easy wear, while an internal cotton drawstring enables adjustable sizing. With its relaxed, wide-leg silhouette, the garment leaves no detail overlooked, incorporating durable triple-stitch construction derived from workwear and bar-tack reinforcements on the back pockets. Designed and produced in their Los Angeles studio, this piece is a culmination of the brand’s quintessential artistry and meticulous craftsmanship.
