Corgi Hosiery is a knitwear manufacturer founded in 1893 in South Wales, UK.
At the time of its founding, coal mining was the main industry in Wales, and Corgi began producing handmade socks with the desire to provide warm long socks for the workers there.
From 1960, they started producing hand-framed intarsia knitwear, later adding cashmere, which gained recognition from high-end fashion houses in Paris.
Then, in 1988, Prince Charles (Prince of Wales) was granted a Royal Warrant (Royal Appointment Certification) for his consistent use of Corgi knitwear and socks over a period of 10 years.
While most manufacturers mass-produce using machines, Corgi Hosiery continues to prioritize handmade craftsmanship by artisans even today.
