A loose-fitting boxy oversized shirt.
The fabric is woven exclusively for MAN-TLE at an atelier in Kyoto.
It is a mixed weave of two different types of yarn: Japanese paper yarn made from Manila hemp, and wood-derived Japanese paper yarn blended with Manila hemp to reinforce its strength. The subtle variations in color and texture created by this weave are expressions that cannot be achieved with a single material.
This fabric combines the incredible breathability of the natural material Japanese paper with the durability characteristic of gabardine weaving. The dry feel when it touches the skin and the subtle sheerness that appears when held up to the light provide unparalleled coolness under the summer sun.
The silhouette is a relaxed box shape, a typical MAN-TLE design with functional wide front pockets. The structure is meticulously designed down to the smallest detail, such as the side seam vents and pleated cuffs.
With repeated washing, the heavy fabric softens, allowing you to enjoy a unique aging process where black ink and indigo intertwine.
