This sweatshirt is designed as a homage to The Scene, New York's legendary but short-lived music club.
THE SCENE, led by Steve Pauls, quietly nestled in a basement on West 46th Street in Manhattan in New York in the mid-1960s, wrote a glorious chapter in music history in just five years.
The design features the club's address, 46th Street.
"JU 2-5760" is the phone number and is printed on all of the club's marketing materials and signage, a detail that has been faithfully reproduced.
"THE SCENE" was known as a place where musicians visiting New York would jam until late into the night.
It was a favorite spot of Jimi Hendrix in particular, and lucky patrons were able to see never-before-seen collaborations, such as B.B. King and Hendrix, or Hendrix and Johnny Winter.
Frequented by artists such as the Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd, Traffic, Fleetwood Mac, The Doors and Al Kooper, the club was a shining beacon of culture and creativity.
It inspired some of the most creative minds of the 1960s and has had a lasting impact for generations to come.
