A menswear brand by female designer Emily Adams Bode, based in Manhattan, NY.
BODE crafts classical and distinctive workwear silhouettes from a diverse range of antique and unique textiles.
With two degrees in Philosophy and Menswear Design, Emily became the first female menswear designer to present a collection at New York Men's Fashion Week less than a year after establishing her brand in 2016.
While still a student, Emily honed her skills in discovering, processing, and eventually repurposing historical and rare fabrics from around the world.
The collections she creates are lovingly made, piece by piece, from various fabrics such as tablecloths over 100 years old, burlap sacks, Victorian-style bed sheets, and antique quilts.
This appreciation for historical patterns and fabrics originated and developed during Emily's childhood vacations in Massachusetts and Atlanta.
