DESCRIPTION
【Item Details】
A mid-gauge knit inspired by "La Cathédrale," a sculpture housed in the Musée Rodin depicting two right hands gently nestled together.
Utilizes "differential shrinkage" technology, knitting together wool yarn that shrinks in hot water with yarn that does not.
By shrinking the motif of the hands and the base, a three-dimensional relief is created on the surface, giving the flat knit a sculptural, textured feel.
The base fabric, through the condensation of the yarn, gains a moderate density and a smooth, supple texture, reducing the itchiness typical of wool.
With the motif emerging from a deep navy background, this piece possesses a striking presence that elevates a classical sculpture into a wearable art piece.

A knitwear brand helmed by designer Kota Gushiken.
Graduated from Central Saint Martins (CSM) with a degree in Fashion Design Knitwear.
During his studies, he interned at the couture department of Dior and Proenza Schouler. His CSM graduation collection was selected for "Top 6 Central Saint Martins BA Graduates Of 2016" by the British fashion media outlet The Business of Fashion. He officially launched his own brand, "Kota Gushiken," starting with the 2019 Autumn/Winter season.
