Dominique Louris began his career as a designer in 1982.
After graduating from the Academie Charpentier, he studied fashion and interior design at the Ecole Camondo and gained experience at the Hermes house. He then worked for Ralph Lauren for a year, while also working on multiple projects as a furniture and interior designer. After learning that his beloved actor Philippe Noiret was a customer of Arnis, he began to frequent Arnis himself. At the time, he was designing scarves for the Paris Opera and had a contract with Daniel Cremieux, but eventually his talent was recognized by Arnis' owner, Mr. Grimbert, and he began working as a freelance designer.
In 1988, he officially became an exclusive designer for Arnis, and for the next 24 years, he supported the Maison and men's elegance in Paris, France, as its de facto designer. In 2012, when Arnis was acquired by LVMH, he became independent and launched his own brand, "LeLys", in 2014.
