This knitted scarf is made from rare, undyed, natural black and brown Romney Gotland wool, which has been genetically improved over many years by farmers at Black Sheep Farm in Ontario.
The fibers are washed and spun in a workshop near the ranch, and are processed without chemicals to preserve their original, rich colors.
Weaving on a semi-manual dobby loom allows for a unique texture that combines mechanical precision with the rhythm of handwork, creating a texture that is both structured and irregular.
The rare inclusion of hay and subtle variations in colour are testament to the craftsmanship and natural processing of this wool.

DANA LEE BROWN is a collection of clothing and custom fabrics made in collaboration with farms and textile mills through a process that goes from soil to loom.
The collection includes warm items with handwritten labels that document the fabric production process, starting from the farm.
