A denim jacket with a workwear-like appearance, created based on a vintage denim smock owned by designer Emily.
The base was a denim smock from the 1970s to 1980s.
The white geometric embroidery and red monogram originally applied to the smock are carefully reproduced on the hem, collar, and cuffs, adding delicate decorative elements to the simple workwear.
While based on the practical silhouette of a work jacket, this piece quietly conveys the warmth of BODE's handcrafted work and its narrative quality.

A menswear brand by female designer Emily Adams Bode, based in Manhattan, NY.
BODE tailors a wide variety of antique and unique textiles into classic and distinctive workwear silhouettes.
Emily, who holds degrees in philosophy and menswear design, became the first female menswear designer to present a collection at New York Fashion Week for men less than a year after founding the brand in 2016.
While still a student, Emily honed her skills in searching for and processing rare historical fabrics from around the world, eventually becoming proficient in tailoring.
Her collections are lovingly handcrafted from various fabrics, such as tablecloths made over 100 years ago, hessian sacks, Victorian-style bedsheets, and antique quilts.
This appreciation for historical patterns and fabrics originated from Emily's childhood vacations in Massachusetts and Atlanta.
