DESCRIPTION
[LAFABLIGHT]
A thin rope is strung across a 5mm-thick sheet with numerous slits. LAFABLIGHT is a new brand launched in France in 2021. It has a warm texture and simple structure, but the shape of the frame and the way the ropes cross give it an original and cool look.
Made in France, the materials are cut from oak, poplar, beech and other trees that grow in a forest about 200 km west of Paris. Since the pieces need to be assembled while adjusting the delicate tension, the assembly and weaving are done carefully by hand one by one at a furniture workshop in Japan.
The shades are made up of five basic shapes, but by changing the arrangement of the threads to create a complex geometric pattern, a total of 60 patterns are available. The silhouette changes when the light is on and off. Another feature is that it shows different expressions depending on the viewing angle.
